The theme of the conference will be ‘Artists, Markets, and Survival’. Sharing by artists and other art industry practitioners is also welcomed.
The Sixth Global Creative Industries Conference is co-organized by the Global Creative Industries Programme of the School of Modern Languages and Cultures at HKU and Creative Push. Since its establishment in 2012, the Global Creative Industries Programme has endeavoured to foster the development of the creative industries, enhance interdisciplinary research on creativity and nurture creative talents. The conference on global creative industries provides a platform for researchers, educators, and practitioners to present their most updated research on all aspects of creative industries in all parts of the world.
The conference serves as a venue for researchers and educators to reflect on their research in this emerging field of study and locate the key theoretical and empirical questions that should be addressed in our future research. Most importantly, the conference aims to provide an opportunity for researchers, educators, and practitioners to exchange ideas, form alliances, and build networks to advance both the development of the industries and the understanding of the field.
Theme: "Global creative industries in the context of new generation"

Venue: Yonsei University
The fifth conference would like to sincerely invite intellectuals, scholars and academic researchers from all over the world to share their research findings related to the field of creative industries. This year, the theme of the conference will be ‘Pop Music and TV Drama’ and hence we especially welcome the research papers which are relevant to the conference theme. The conference also serves a venue for researchers and educators to reflect on their research in this emerging field of study and locate the key theoretical and empirical questions that should be addressed in our future research. Finally, the conference hopes to provide an opportunity for researchers, educators, and practitioners to exchange ideas, form alliances, and build network to advance both the industries and the understanding of the field.
Theme: "East Asian Creative Industries in a Global Context: New Opportunities and Challenges"

Venue: Zhejiang Gongshang University
The fourth conference on global creative industries is to provide a platform for researchers, educators, and practitioners to present their most updated research on all aspects of creative industries in all parts of the world. Creative industries in East Asia have been promoted for decades, but living in a more and more globalized world, we believe that it is the right time to discuss what are the opportunities and challenges faced by East Asian Creative Industries in the global context so that we can identify what should be done for the industries to grow in the coming decades.
Theme: "Where creative industries have been and where they would go?"

The third conference on global creative industries is to provide a platform for researchers, educators, and practitioners to present their most updated research on all aspects of creative industries in all parts of the world. Creative industries have been promoted for more than two decades, we believe that it is the right time to do a stock take of what have been happening in the industries in the past twenty years so that we can identify what should be done for the industries in the coming decades.
Theme: "From Global to Local, and Vice Versa"

From Global to Local and Vice Versa, the 2016 conference theme, highlights our emphasis on development of creative industries in the regional context. Conference participants are welcome to address various issues in the study of the creative industries from a whole range of fields, including anthropology, business studies, communication, creative arts, culture, economics, education, environment, film, gender and sexuality, health, history, language, literature, management, media, philosophy, politics, psychology, religion and sociology. Papers focusing on comparative analysis of the development of creative industries and with an East Asian focus are particularly welcome. From Global to Local and Vice Versa also espouses the interaction and integration between the academia and the industry on the prospect and sustainability of the creative industries. In addition to the panel and individual paper presentations, we will include roundtable forums, workshops and other creative forms of communication platform to engage scholars and practitioners in dialogues.
